Thank you for your interest in submitting your manuscript with us.  We want to read them!  But we have been overwhelmed by the number of submissions we have received and we have to close submissions for now so that we can assess all the backlog.  If you have submitted and you have not heard back from us, please bear with us.  Submissions will open again on 31st  March 2017.

Our submission guidelines

Cassava Republic Press publishes novels, short story collections, creative non-fiction, teen fiction and children’s books. Since we only produce around twenty books each year, what we publish reflect the specific tastes and interests of our small team and reviewers. We are most interested in stories that explore a diversity of contemporary experiences in the African worlds in an original, engaging, inspiring and empowering way. We are especially interested in submissions by women and those that explore uncharted areas in African letters: diverse sexualities, speculative fiction, fantasy and crime. We do not publish poetry, self-help, business, management or religious books. We have a crime series (Cassava Crime) and a romance imprint (Ankara Press).

In general, we only accept proposals from authors who will grant us global or UK, Africa, European and Commonwealth rights (for print and electronic versions) as we are based both in Africa (Nigeria) and Europe (UK). We also only work with writers who unambiguously support the growth of African publishing and see the African continent as an important and valued part of their readership.
