Mourning a national tragedy

On Sunday, June 3, 2012, a Dana Airways plane carrying 147 passengers and six crew members crashed into an apartment building in the Iju- Agege neighbourhood in Lagos, killing everyone on board and at least 10 residents in the building.

The tragedy has been followed by an outpouring of grief and calls for a thorough investigation into the cause of the crash. Nigeria’s literary community has not been spared. Since Sunday, authors, artists and other creatives have been expressing their solidarity for the families of the victims in the ways they know best – through art.

Cassava Republic wants to join the nation in mourning this awful event. Our hearts go out to everyone affected. You’ll be in our thoughts and prayers.
