International Women's Day is on March 8th, and as the world gears up to celebrate women and their acheivements and contributions, Cassava Republic Press is proud that we have always been at the forefront of celebrating women's creative voices.
From Lola Shoneyin, Adaobi Nwaubani, Sarah Ladipo Manyika, Sade Adeniran and Fatima Akilu, we feature some of the most exciting contemporary women writers in Africa today.
On Saturday, 12th March we plan on joining with Farafina Books and the Abule Book Club to host an evening of readings, music and entertainment at the Life House, Lagos, by 6pm. It'll be a joyous celebration and everyone is encouraged to bring a short exceprt from a work of a female artist of their choice.
The upcoming event prompted us to ask our readers: who is your favorite African female writer, and why?
