The Caine Prize for African writing has today announced its judges for its 2011 edition. The panel will be led by Libyan novelist Hisham Matar, author of "In the Country of Men."
Established in 2000, the prize has been an enormous avenue of support to new writing in Africa. It has played a huge part in encouraging the latest crop of authors and publishers, giving modern African writing the prestige and platform it deserves.
Our very own Helon Habila won the prize in 2001.
We look forward to seeing the shortlist and the eventual winner.
