Ngugi for the Nobel?



Ngugi wa Thiong'o has been heavily tipped by the bookies to win this year's Nobel Literature prize.  It would be fantastic for him to win - it would mean Africans from South, West and East have won the prize.

  • Egypt’s Naguib Mahfouz was awarded the Nobel Prize in literature in 1988 so North Africa, too, has its representative in the Nobel literature prize hall of fame.
